About Noorina Labs
Our Mission
Noorina Labs exists to serve the Islamic scholarly tradition through thoughtful technology. We build open, accessible tools that help researchers, students, and communities engage with classical sources in new ways — without replacing the human scholarship that gives those sources meaning.
What We Believe
- Scholarship first. Technology should amplify scholarly work, not substitute for it. Every tool we build is grounded in published academic sources and reviewed by domain experts.
- Open by default. Our code, data pipelines, and research are open source. Transparency builds trust and invites collaboration.
- Accessible to all. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or a first-time learner, our tools should meet you where you are. We design for clarity, performance, and inclusivity.
- Respectful of tradition. We approach Islamic sciences with the reverence they deserve. Our tone is scholarly but welcoming, precise but never exclusionary.
What We’re Building
Our first project, the Isnad Graph, applies graph computation to the hadith sciences — making chains of narration explorable and searchable at scale. More projects are on the way, each rooted in the same principles: serve scholarship, stay open, remain respectful.
Get Involved
Noorina Labs is a community effort. If you are a scholar, developer, designer, or simply someone who cares about preserving and sharing Islamic knowledge, we would love to hear from you. Reach out at [email protected].
